Great post! I live here and discovered we have a museum I haven’t visited.

5/22 - Unusual day at the Coastal Bend as 8,000 runners took over our parking lot. We moved up the sea wall a few hundred feet to our alternate sailing sight between the Cooper’s Alley L-Head and the Lawrence Street T-Head. 5 RC Lasers total running C-rigs all afternoon. ... See MoreSee Less

OK... I've been sailing cats and big boats since 1984. We sold our Ericson 32 in 2018 and started this RC thing in 2017. I purchased a new DF95 and that started the ball rolling. This led to the wife wanting one a year later. We now have ten boats between us. 2 DF95's, 2 DF65's, 2 Victorias, 2 IOM's, and now 2 RC Lasers. We sailed our newly acquired Lasers last Friday in 3-7 mph wind using "A" rigs. All good so far! One additional comment here. We've made many new friends along the way which has made our new endeavor even more pleasurable. ... See MoreSee Less

Great looking Laser’s!! I hope to make it over for the next sail out next Saturday.

Such a cool sport. I tried a couple of the demo days but haven't made the leap to buying one.

We had an awesome experience this past Saturday the 7th at The Nautical Flea Market in Rockport, TX! Our thanks to the wonderful folks at the Rockport Yacht Club (RYC) who went out of their way to help us obtain the perfect spot for our booth and made us feel so welcome at their fantastic event! The winds were averaging 14 knots gusting to 17 as we sailed our RC Lasers from the RYC’s dinghy dock. “C” rigs ruled day and our little boats surfed down the sides of waves running through the harbor’s entrance! Many interested sailors visited with us and tried their hand at RC Sailing. We surely hope a few catch the RC Bug and visit with us again on one of our regular sail days! Special thanks to the following friends who came out to participate: Barry Beuershausen, Richard and Denise Delgado, Ben Eberle and Vicky Stones, Ray Seta and Sylvia Dimayuga, and William and Eric Gregory. My hat is off to young William who paddled so hard against the wind and waves to put out marks. The motorized dinghy will be a must for our next sail out here. The Nautical Flea Market was absolutely amazing! Nautical items for sale included: fishing gear, sailing, power boating and windsurfing equipment, new and used parts and tools, motors, boats, dinghies, kayaks, and nautical art to decorate the inside and outside of your home! Food & Drinks were available from multiple vendors who just happened to surround our booth. We completed our day with a delicious dinner at Paradise Key Dockside Bar & Grill. Plenty of great conversation and company! What a great day in Rockport, TX!!!!Our next sail out is scheduled for May 21st from 12-3pm at our regular location on the Corpus Christi Sea Wall, at the North end of Water’s Edge Park, 60 S Shoreline Blvd Corpus Christi, TX 78401. Come on out and bring a friend!!! ... See MoreSee Less
